The main performance of activated magnesium oxide and ordinary magnesium oxide is different

The particle size distribution is suitable, the average particle size is generally less than 2μm, and the microscopic morphology is irregular particles or nearly spherical particles or flaky crystals.

It has a little activity, which can be expressed by citric acid activity (CAA value) (the smaller the value, the higher the activity), or by iodine absorption value.

Active magnesium oxide exposed to air absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide, which reduces its activity and sometimes requires chemical treatment for protection; its other properties are the same as those of ordinary magnesium oxide.
