INTRODUCTION

The composite material pultrusion process is a process for producing composite material and other cross-sectional profiles by impregnating continuous fibers or their fabrics with resin under the traction of a traction device and curing the resin by heating a forming die.

Fiberglass coarse sand arrangement → Glue impregnation → Pre-forming → Pultrusion molding and curing → Traction cutting → Product packaging

Question 1:

How to solve the problem of zinc stearate and release wax precipitation during pultrusion?

Answer 1:

Option 1: Reducing the usage of zinc stearate and mold release agent may cause mold blocking.

Option 2: It is recommended to use BYK-P9912 internal mold release agent to replace zinc stearate and traditional external mold release wax to improve the demoulding efficiency, reduce irregular white and yellow spots on the surface, do not affect the subsequent product polishing, can be directly painted, improve the factory environment, and reduce the number of processes.

Question 2:

The dipping time is short and white yarn appears in the middle of the profile. How to solve it?

Answer 2:

Solution 1: Reduce resin viscosity and extend dipping time, but production efficiency will be reduced

Option 2: Add impregnation aids BYK-A560 (unsaturated, vinyl resin) and BYK-P9920 (epoxy resin glass fiber, carbon fiber) to improve the impregnation efficiency and reduce the defective rate at the same impregnation time, while reducing the impact of bubbles and slightly increasing the cost.

Question 3:

The high flame retardant system has a high overall viscosity due to the addition of a large amount of aluminum hydroxide (ATH) resin, which is not conducive to the dipping of glass fiber yarn. How to solve this problem?

Answer 3:

Option 1: Use low-viscosity pultrusion resin and surface-treated aluminum hydroxide, but the cost increase is obvious.

Option 2: It is recommended to use dispersants such as BYK-W9010, BYK-W9012, BYK-W996, etc., with an addition amount of 1%, which can greatly improve the viscosity of the system.
