Prospects of water-based engineering machinery coatings
In recent years, my country's construction machinery manufacturing industry has developed rapidly. Since most construction machinery products are large in size, the demand for coatings is large. The average amount of coatings used in an excavator reaches 50kg, so the market prospects for construction machinery coatings are very broad. In order to improve product competitiveness, construction machinery manufacturers are no longer limited to the internal quality and performance of products, and obtain coatings with good anti-corrosion performance and appearance quality. At the same time, construction machinery coatings are developing towards energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon coating technology applications, such as water-based coatings, high-solid coatings, powder coatings, etc. However, due to the complex structural parts of construction machinery, powder coatings are currently difficult to apply, so high-solid and water-based coatings have become the first choice. High-solid coatings still contain a large amount of toxic solvents, so the prospect of water-based construction machinery coatings will be very large.

1. Hydroxylated acrylic dispersion for water-based two-component polyurethane
PROSPERSE™ 500: It has excellent glossiness and weather resistance, excellent salt spray resistance and water resistance, and also exhibits good flexibility and hardness.
2. Rheological additives: fumed silica and dispersion
AEROSIL R202: has excellent thixotropic anti-corrosion effect in epoxy primers.
Pyrogenic silica dispersion VP Disp. WF 7620: Excellent rheological effect (anti-sagging), easy to add, suitable for water-based varnishes and paints.
3. Adhesion promoter
Silane coupling agent COATOSIL MP 200: Improves adhesion while providing cross-linking to provide excellent water resistance and anti-corrosion properties.

Q: What is the hydroxyl content of PROSPERSE™ 500? How about the gloss and fullness?
Answer:
The hydroxyl content is 3.8%, the gloss at 60 degrees can reach over 90°, and it has excellent fullness.
Question 2
: Water-based polyurethane topcoat is prone to sagging. Is there any solution?
The answer
can be solved by adding dispersion VP Disp. WF 7620 without affecting the gloss of the topcoat.
Q3
: Can COATOSIL MP 200 silane be added directly to waterborne epoxy primer? What is its storage stability? How much should it be added?
Answer:
It can be added directly. It has very good storage stability in water-based epoxy systems and is not easy to gel. The recommended addition amount is 0.5-1.5% of the total formula.
