Unsaturated polyester resin (UPE)
Unsaturated polyester resin (UPE), as an important thermosetting resin, is widely used in fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) products, such as storage tanks, ship hulls, swimming pools, sanitary facilities, building materials, etc. In these applications, the rheological properties of the resin directly impact the quality of the final product and processing efficiency. 1. Introduction to unsaturated polyester resin and its application
Unsaturated polyester resin is widely used in the following fields due to its excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance and ease of processing:
Shipbuilding industry: manufacturing hulls, decks, etc.;
Transportation: used for body parts, truck covers, etc.;
Bathroom facilities: such as bathtub, wash basin;
Building and Construction: For roofing, siding, decorative materials;

Key resin types:
Gel coat: As the first layer on the mold surface, it is about 0.5 mm thick and provides aesthetic and weather-resistant protection.
Laminated resin: used for multi-layer composite structures. It does not flow after spraying and reduces moisture absorption.
Vinyl resin: more polar, often used in mold manufacturing and lining materials in highly corrosive environments.
