Classification:
Products
Product Details
Application Information
Liquid Coatings
Features and Benefits
DISPERBYK-2152 has a highly branched chemical structure and is designed for solvent-free epoxies as well as other reactive systems such as two-component polyurethanes and acid-catalyzed systems. During the grinding process of pigments and fillers, the polyester side chains of the additives are compressed and the adhesion of the amine groups to the pigment or filler surface is increased. The pigment affinity groups are adsorbed on the surface of the pigment and filler, while the polyester side chains still wrap the amine groups to prevent them from reacting with the epoxy resin. The additive significantly reduces viscosity and does not react with the resin, thus achieving long-term storage stability. DISPERBYK-2152 wets and deflocculates pigments well. The additive has a broad compatibility and has no negative impact on coating properties such as yellowing resistance, metal adhesion or corrosion protection.
DISPERBYK-2152 meets the environmental requirements of the German Building Materials Products Health Assessment Committee (AgBB).
Recommended for
industrial coatings, wood and furniture coatings, anti-corrosion coatings
Recommended dosage
% Additive dosage (purchased form) based on pigment
Inorganic pigment: 5-10%
Titanium dioxide: 1-3%
Organic pigment: 20-45%
Carbon black: 20-80%
The above data are empirical dosages, and the optimal dosage needs to be determined through a series of gradient tests.
Incorporation and processing instructions
For best results, the additives should be added to the grind before the pigment is added, so that the additives can fully function. Premix the resin and solvent components of the grind and then slowly add the additives while stirring. After the additives are fully dispersed, add the pigment.

Incorporation and Processing Instructions
Wetting and dispersing additives should be added to the millbase. This is the only way to achieve the best results. The resin and solvent components of the millbase should be premixed and the additive should then be added slowly with constant stirring. After the additives are fully dispersed, add the pigment.
Adhesives and Sealants
Features and Benefits
The additive improves the wetting and dispersion of inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide (ATH). It is also suitable for aluminum powder and aluminum oxide fillers. The additive reduces viscosity and increases filler loading.
This additive is
particularly recommended for epoxy and polyurethane adhesives.
Recommended dosage
0.5-1.5 % additive dosage (as purchased) based on filler
addition method and processing instructions
For best results, the additive should be added before the filler.
