Features and Benefits
BYK-W 985 can be used in unsaturated polyester resins, polyurethanes and epoxy resins to accelerate the wetting and dispersion of various common fillers such as calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide. It can significantly reduce the viscosity and thus increase the filling content. BYK-W 985 does not usually prevent the precipitation of fillers. In cobalt-accelerated unsaturated polyester resins, the gel time may be prolonged and should be adjusted by increasing the cobalt addition.
Recommended dosage
0.5-1.5% additive dosage (as purchased) based on filler.

It accelerates the wetting and dispersion of various common fillers such as calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide. It can significantly reduce the viscosity and thus increase the filling content. BYK-W 985 does not usually prevent the sedimentation of fillers. The additive is also suitable for polyurethane systems.
