BYK-P 9080 is a processing additive for low-profile and Class A surface SMC with demoulding properties. It stabilizes the molding compound and improves the flow properties. Due to its excellent demoulding properties, it can completely replace conventional mold release products. BYK-P 9080 not only improves the surface quality of the molded parts, but also improves the adhesion and bonding of paints.

dosage
4-5 % (as purchased) based on the total amount of resin.
The above dosage recommendations are guidelines. The optimal dosage can be determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and processing instructions
The additive should be added while stirring after the UP resin and the low shrinkage (LS/LP) components are homogeneously mixed. Conventional mold release agents used in the formulation should be removed. The additive has an influence on thickening. Adding 10% more MgO will give a thickening level corresponding to the use of a zinc/calcium stearate system.
